Wikipedia Entry: Harold Washington College (HWC) is a two-year community college within the City Colleges of Chicago system of Chicago, Illinois. It is located in the Loop at 30 E Lake St. Founded in 1962 as Loop College, the college was renamed for the first African American Chicago mayor Harold Washington after his death in 1987. The community college offers two year degrees in a wide variety of majors and provides transfer assistance to local four-year colleges and universities.

On Saturday, October 18, 2008, a select group of students from across the City Colleges of Chicago participated in the first ever "Know Your Heritage: Hispanic College Quiz." This event showcased the "academic prowess" of City Colleges of Chicago students of Latino/a American decent versus eight other institutions of higher education. Participants included the following students: Lucero Herrera, Carolina Verdial, Juan Martinez, Yunuen Rodriguez, Rosa Delgado, Isabelle Lara and Alejandro Rodriguez.
"Wealth Fitness For Adults" Video / Text Translation
The City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) along with the City of Chicago’s Treasurers Office to offers the "Wealth Fitness for Adults" program as a financial literacy program to all Chicagoland residents. The classes are free to the general public and last for six weeks. The courses offered are titled "The ABC's of Personal Finance" and "Discovering Financial Awareness." The program has been very successful, with over 3,800 students already having participated so far. This is a Windows Media format video.
